The reception classroom is very large and bright with direct access to a well planned outdoor space. The classroom and outside area are self contained and very safe for the children to use. There is an experienced full time teaching assistant who supports the class teacher. There are often parents and students helping in the classroom.
The classroom has many different areas, enabling children to access equipment independently which is an improtant part of the reception curriculum.
The role play area is used to develop language and social skills.
Children are taught in small groups for a short period of time. Mrs Rushton is teaching the children letters using the Jolly Phonics scheme.
