Nailsworth C.E. (C) Primary School

Music at Nailsworth

Nailsworth CE Primary School prides itself on its fantastic provision in music for children at all ages. Every class has a weekly opportunity to make music, either with body percussion or instruments. Having a recognised global link, lots of the instruments your child will play may come from around the world. Music lessons usually start with fun rhymes and games to warm up the body and voice. We have a special music room too!

Children can join lunch time and after school clubs to enjoy music further, and we also offer children the opportunity to learn to play instruments on an individual basis. Ask our pupils about choir, recorders, dance and drama too!

Choir is open for children from Year 1 to Year 6. They meet each Monday lunchtime with  Miss Boyle and have extra practice sessions at other times during the year when they are preparing for performances.

The choir were very popular at Christmas time and sang to groups of people at the Crystal Fountain Village and at other residential homes in and around Nailsworth.

The choir have performed  during the evening when the Cotswold Male Voice Choir came to school for an enjoyable fund raising evening.

Year 5 and Year 6 children form the choir took part in a local school's festival at Wycliffe College, where all the schools sang songs from 'Noah and his floating zoo'.

The choir are currently practising hard for the 'Joseph' performance to be performed in the summer.
