Community Governors
Community Governors
Margaret Marshall has been a Governor for 1 year now and is a Community Governor. She is a member of the Curriculum Committee, which suits her down to the ground because she is someone who is always interested in the learning development of children. She is a keen supporter of the idea that children should have fun learning coupled with a sense of fairness and discipline to help them achieve their potential. She is regularly seen within school, whether it be through the Open the Book performances on a Friday or helping with the Better Reading programme to which she is extremely dedicated. She is another person who sems to fit an enormous amount into a day and is a real pillar of the whole community.

Lesley Willimas-Allen has been a Governor for over 4 years now. As the ex Mayor of Nailsworth she is accustomed to the ins and outs of committee meetings and the workings of governing bodies. At the school she is linked with the PSHCE and has recently met with Janet Jones to discuss the progress made in this area. She is an influential member sitting on the Finance, and Buildings & Community, Committees. Lesley worked extremely hard to ensure that the school was represented appropriately when the field was sold off to FGR. Her vigour and persuasiveness as a governorand Mayor made sure that the school received money for the sale of the field and access to some of the facilities being built. We are very grateful. Leslie has just become the President of the Chamber of trade and will look to develop links with businesses in the future.
